Cannot save cisco running-config to startup-config

If you cannot save the running config to startup-config on a cisco router/switch be sure to check your config-register, if it’s inappropriately configured the router/switch will ignore the startup-config.
The factory-default setting for the configuration register is 0×2102.

Check it by issuing a show version command in privileged EXEC mode:

Enter the global configuration mode and set it to the default value of 0×2102:

router#conf t router(config)#config-register 0x2102

Am făcut zilele astea unpic de cumpărături, ce mai exact?

Păăăăi pentru început, după cum a observat şi Emil, mi-am luat un VPS si am mutat tot ce inseama http si webservices pe el.
De ce am făcut asta? Pentru că am prostul obicei să mă joc cu hw-ul şi cu sistemele de operare deci blogul avea mai mult downtime decât uptime. Să sperăm că lucrurile vor sta altfel acum .

Am mai luat două routere Cisco 1721 fiecare cu un WIC-2T şi un WIC-1ENET şi un switch Cisco WS-C2924-XL-EN pentru micul meu laborator Cisco/CCNA.
Din păcate deocamdată nu apucasem să mă joc cu ele, sper să imi fac pe săptămana viitoare.

Şi nu în ultimul rând am luat o carcasă nouă, un Antec Mini P180 pentru serverul meu (dakara). Carcasa mea veche (Un Asus ordinar) începuse să vibreze din cauza hdd-urilor de mă scotea din minţi. Sper sa revin cu un mini-review pe mâine-poimâine.

Reseting the DD-WRT http username

I have at home a Linksys WRT54G router flashed with DD-WRT. I configured it a long time ago so today when i wanted to use the web interface I realised that I forgoted my http username.Luckily i still had telnet access because the telnet username stay’s the same (root). I didn’t want to reset the router back to it’s default settings because that meant i would lose all the settings that I made.
So here is how you reset your http username back to root:

1.) Telnet to the router:

telnet 192.168.1.1 (This is the default IP address, change it accordingly)

2.) Input the username (root) and password:

3.) And finally reset it:

nvram set http_username=4DBfucrfjXL6o

Am terminat si eu in sfarsit modului 2 de CCNA (Routing and Switching) .Au fost 5 saptamani de nesomn , multa cafea si stat in cap (la un momendat pe la ospf la propriu) dar am invatat multe.Acum pot sa vizionez in continuare BSG-ul (sa vad cum saracie se termina ca ma omoara curiozitatea) , sa mai imi scot si eu capul pe afara ca imediat ma dau unii disparut , si sa beau berile alea promise de unii (apropo foarte subtil :-” )
Timpul oricum e scurt , peste 4 saptamani incep modulul 3.
